LAST UPDATED: Dec, 2017
2018 Game Change Limits - No changes other than rainouts and other "acts of God" after Feb. 20th.
- Facility restrictions made by schools and referee schedule issues count as "Acts of God."
- Mutually agreed upon changes are permissible with 7 days notice after February 20, but the team not requesting the change is under no obligation to do so. If there is no mutual agreement and the game is not played, a forfeit will be booked.
Schedule change requests will only be accepted and granted when submitted using the following procedure: - The coach requesting a change should contact the opposing coach via email and, using the currently posted schedule, negotiate an available game time when both teams and a field are available. The league, nor officials, need to be involved in this part of the process but they are available if questions arise.
- FOR EACH CHANGE, a new email (new thread) must be submitted by the coach or team administrator requesting the change to schedule@highsierralax.org. It must:
- CC the opposing coach and any other involved parties
- Have a subject line with the current game team, date and location as scheduled. (e.g. "Boys Varsity Reno@Bishop Manogue 3/18 Schedule Change Request")
- Include the old game time and the proposed new game date, time, and location. (e.g. "We'd like to move the boys varsity Reno@Bishop Manogue 3/18 game to 3/22 Reno@Bishop Manogue at 6 pm. Both teams approve the change.")
- Or if simply a game addition/subtraction state "Please add SomeTeam@SomeOtherTeam on SomeDate at SomePlace."
- Certification by the HOST TEAM that the host field (regardless of location) is available at the requested time. (e.g. "The host field at Bishop Manogue has been confirmed.")
- If confirmation of the field is omitted, the certification of the field by the HOST TEAM is implied.
- In the event of a neutral site, the HOME TEAM is considered the HOST TEAM and it is their responsibility to confirm the field.
- The league will post the pending changes and confirm that all league resources required, including referees, are able to accommodate the change.
- If there is an issue, the league will coordinate with the teams to find an alternative.
- If the request is in violation of the game change limits and a compromise cannot be reached by all required resources, the requesting team forfeits.
- REFEREES should not be engaged by teams directly for changes. This will lead to scheduling errors and confusion.
- The league will update the schedule send notice that the schedule has been updated to all participants.
